SNAPPY TROLLEY GRAND PRIX (Fixed benchmark prompt. Every model gets exactly this, in one turn. Do not ask clarifying questions; state your assumptions instead.) ## Context Snappy Shopper is a UK rapid-delivery platform for local convenience stores: customers order from their nearby shop and get it delivered fast. Our mascot is a friendly wind-up robot shopping trolley: red body, navy wheels, a dark screen face with glowing cyan eyes and a small smile, a wind-up key on its side, a grabber arm, and it carries a little brown paper Snappy bag. ## The brief Build a kart racing game in the spirit of the classic arcade kart racers, set in the Snappy Shopper world, with the trolley as the player's racer. Make it original: no characters, names, tracks, items or sounds from any existing game. The core (build at least this): - The player races the trolley against at least three rival racers who drive with some intelligence of their own. - At least one complete track, raced over three laps, with position tracking and a lap counter. - Pick-ups or power-ups on the track that change the race. Invent your own, drawn from the world of corner shops and deliveries. - A way to drift, boost or otherwise reward skilful driving. - A start screen, a countdown, an in-race HUD, and a results screen with finishing positions and times. ## Stretch your legs This is a test of what you can do, so aim as high as you think you can deliver: the rendering approach (2D, pseudo-3D, real 3D, anything else), the look, handling, rival behaviour, sound (generated in code), tracks, modes, humour and polish are all yours. Add ONE signature idea of your own that makes this unmistakably a Snappy game. Choose ambition you can actually land. A smaller game that is fun and works beats a bigger one that is broken. We judge what runs, not what was attempted. ## Hard requirements 1. A single self-contained index.html. No external files, libraries, fonts, CDNs or images: write everything yourself. 2. Playable with keyboard AND touch; fully playable at 375px wide, in portrait or landscape. 3. Pauses automatically when the tab loses focus. 4. Respects prefers-reduced-motion. 5. Best times persisted in localStorage, safe if storage is unavailable. 6. ?seed= makes a race deterministic (the same rival behaviour and pick-ups). 7. Runs smoothly on a mid-range phone, with no console errors during a normal race. ## Deliverables, in this order 1. "Ambition" (≤80 words): what you are aiming for and why you think you can land it. 2. "Assumptions": bullet list of anything you had to decide. 3. The game itself: write it to a file at snappy-grand-prix/index.html and give the path. Don't paste the code into the chat. (Only if you can't write files, put the complete file in one code block instead.) 4. "Designer's note" (≤200 words): your signature idea and why; how close you got to your ambition; known bugs or limitations, honestly; what you would do with another hour.
